How has the emergence of AI agents fundamentally changed your approach to building complex projects like entire websites in a single weekend?

It has completely redefined my perception of what is possible within a forty-eight-hour window. I’ve personally utilized coding agents to construct entire, working websites over a single weekend, a feat that would have required a full team and several weeks of development in the past. You simply tell the AI exactly what you want, and it produces real, functional code right before your eyes from prompts alone. While it feels like magic, it’s actually the result of a massive leap in how we prompt and interact with software logic. The ability to move from a conceptual spark to a live, working URL in such a short time is nothing short of fantastic for anyone who loves to build and iterate rapidly.

Many developers remain skeptical of AI because it isn’t deterministic and can produce buggy code. How do you address the concern that these agents make too many mistakes for professional use?

The irony of that skepticism is that humans are just as non-deterministic and prone to making errors as any AI model. We have spent decades building an immense infrastructure of tooling, such as source version control and complex pull request systems, specifically to account for our own flaws and misadventures. We employ entire teams of quality assurance engineers to catch the bugs that we inevitably write into every substantial commit we make. If we already have a structure designed to hunt down and fix human errors, there is no logical reason to hesitate applying it to agent-generated code. At the end of the day, both humans and agents produce code that defines a system, and as long as that code is deterministic once written, the source of the logic becomes secondary to its performance.

If an agent writes code with flaws, why should a development team consider it a net positive to bring one into their existing workflow?

The primary advantage is the sheer velocity at which an agent operates compared to a human developer, which shifts the entire economic scale of production. Even if an agent writes flawed code, it does so 100 times faster than we do, and more importantly, it can find and fix those flaws 100 times faster as well. We are seeing this play out in high-stakes environments already, such as the use of Anthropic’s Claude Mythos model to help harden Windows and Azure against vulnerabilities. These agents are identifying flaws in just a few minutes that would traditionally take human security teams weeks of grueling manual labor to discover. By treating the agent as a “team member,” you are essentially supercharging your ability to iterate, fail, and fix in a cycle that leaves traditional manual coding in the dust.

What is your forecast for the evolution of software engineering as these agents become more deeply integrated into our daily tech stacks?

I expect that we will stop seeing AI as an “external” tool and start viewing it as the foundational layer of every modern development environment. We will see a shift where the human role becomes one of a high-level architect and auditor, spending more time on system design and less time on the repetitive syntax that agents handle so efficiently. Our existing tools like version control will evolve to be even more integrated, automatically rolling back and fixing errors before a human even needs to step in. The speed of innovation will continue to move at a breakneck pace because we are finally addressing the bottleneck of human typing speed and manual bug-hunting. Ultimately, the successful developers will be those who embrace this 100x speed advantage to build more robust, secure, and complex systems than we ever dreamed possible.
